The spirit of Entrepreneurship transcends gender, culture and tradition. Even during a time in America when slavery was the normal practice of economic stability, there were some black individuals who ventured into business and marketing. These individuals, who were deemed to remain slaves for their entire lives, made a decision to move beyond the social traditional beliefs of the time. Their steadfast belief in themselves helped propel them into greatness. These individuals did not wait until the signing of the Proclamation to become free, some of them paid for their own freedom. Then they used their freedom to gainfully change their economic status.
