Pink & Pretty
In this painting you will use only a plastic coffee cup lid as a tool. Pick two or three alcohol ink colors of your choice and use either blending solution or isopropyl alcohol for flow.
Soft & Mellow
In this style, you will create a more subdued, mottled look using blending solution and three alcohol ink colors.
Variation Ideas
Continue to experiment with alcohol inks and you’ll find there are many other ways to manipulate them. Here are just a few ideas. Have fun and experiment!
Geode/Agate Slice Coasters
Agates are minerals with colorful depth, and when cut into slices, reveal rings and glass-like markings. It has become a trend to create agate style coasters using resin, resin tints, mica powders, glitters, and glass shards to replicate these gems.

Alcohol Ink Ceramic Coasters
Alcohol inks can be used on any nonporous surface, including ceramics. Inks can be dropped, painted, or blown around the surface to create interesting patterns, color, and detail.
Textured Ceramic Mug
This is one of my all-time favorite alcohol ink techniques using cling wrap. It’s extremely easy and the results always make me smile. You can add extra touches of gold to really bring a wow factor to this finished piece.
Resin Vase
Using a resin with a longer working time allows you to be creative and make all sorts of fun crafts, including a mold-free vase that you can use for potted plants or fresh flowers.
Paper Marbling With Alcohol Ink
Marbling has been around for centuries and is still a popular form of art today. The colors and patterns can be bold and vibrant or soft and pretty. The oldest paper-marbling technique is called suminagashi (floating ink), which dates to the twelfth century in Japan.
