David and Sharon Schoo—a suburban Illinois couple—took a nine-day vacation in Mexico, leaving behind their two little girls, ages 9 and 4, to fend for themselves at home. When David and Sharon landed, they were arrested on charges of child abandonment, endangerment and cruelty.
