Sample Project: Gold-Painted Rub-On Rocks
Paint a white base coat on the rocks. Paint the stones all over with acrylic paint. Paint both the top and the bottom; this may require more than one coat of paint. As the paint becomes dry to the touch on one side, turn the rock over to paint the other side. Continue applying paint until you have a full base coat.
Allow the rocks to dry fully before applying the rub-ons. Let the rocks dry overnight. Once dry, designs will transfer easily to the rocks using the craft stick.
Add additional details and seal the rocks. Make it your own with a hint of extra color and detail. Using the rub-on designs as the starting point of the design rather than the finished product, you can really get creative. After the rocks completely dry, seal the rocks.
