Twin Sisters From Texas Make History, Graduate Simultaneously With Master’s Degrees

Keyara and Teyara Watson-Love, fraternal twins from Houston, Texas made history when they both graduated from Lamar University with Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology.

The 24-year-old sisters give credit to their parents, Michael and Sarah, for their success thus far in life. Growing up Keyara and Teyara graduated from E.L. Furr High School with honors and were in the top 10 percent of their graduating class. The pair attended Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas where they got their Bachelors of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders of Oral Health with Summa Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude honors.

When the twins were asked why they chose major in Speech-Language Pathology, they said they decided to go into this profession because they are huge on helping people and serving their communities by finding communication difficulties interesting.

“As little girls, we watched our grandmother Ruth Watson help so many people throughout their lives. She had a very big heart and she never hesitated to give anyone a helping hand whenever she could” she said.

Now Keyara works at Eastview Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Teyara works at Copperfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation in the Houston area.
