The Cris David Show: #dyanawilliams with Dyana Williams, founder of Black Music Month
The Cris David Show is celebrating Black Music Month by bringing you exclusive interviews with individuals who have made momentous contributions to Black music.
In 1990, Dyana Williams and Sheila Eldridge launched the Association of African American Music Foundation to promote and preserve Black music. Ms. Williams also helped write House Concurrent Bill 509, which recognized our accomplishments in music and helped establish Black Music Month.
On June 8th 2023, she along with Kenny Gamble, was honored by Philadelphia City Hall with a proclamation commemorating Black Music Month as well as her contributions to the arts.
