The 2017 Academy Award nominations have been announced this week and Hollywood can finally breathe a collective sigh of relief, thanks to a more diverse line up of nominees. Averting a repeat of last year’s diversity controversy which spawned the hashtag “Oscars so white”, this time 6 black actors, a record number, were nominated.
