Racism in football: Why do so few black players become coaches? | ITV News
London’s only black football league manager says the game has lost a generation of talent by failing to encourage more players from black and minority ethnic backgrounds into coaching. Chris Powell’s comments come after an ITV News London investigation this week revealed the shocking level of racism that still exists in the so-called beautiful game. The Southend manager says there’s an extra pressure on him to succeed to pave the way for a future generation. He spoke to ITV News London’s sports reporter Amy Lewis.
