NBA Star Reggie Bullock Purchased A $2M Private Island In Belize With Generational Wealth In Mind
NBA veteran Reggie Bullock is the proud owner of a $2 million private island. Bullock talked about his unique purchase when he appeared on Cam Newton‘s Funky Friday podcast.
The 32-year-old hooper said he first saw the Belize island on YouTube and decided that he wanted to buy it.
“When you getting funds from our profession and what we doing, it’s like, ‘What I’m going to do with it?’ And one of my main things, it was just more about generational wealth for me,” Bullock said on the show. “It was a project that I felt like I should jump on, and it’s never really been done before. But I was all up for the challenge for it.”
After visiting the five-acre island during the NBA All-Star break, Bullock said he fell in love with it even more. The Houston Rockets forward is now building a resort on the heart-shaped island, located in Belize. Coincidentally, one of Bullock’s twins is named Heart.
According to Andscape, the island will include a 4,000-square-foot home for Bullock and his family, as well as eight villas for renters. Bullock also plans to build a restaurant, bar, spa, basketball court and infinity pool.
“I’ve been looking for different things to invest my money in,” Bullock said in an interview with Andscape. “I found an opportunity down in Belize where I purchased an island that was about five acres that I am going to put resort villas on. It’s a vacation spot for me and my family where other people will be able to attend and enjoy different vacation activities.”
The NBA forward looks forward to making “lifetime memories and unforgettable moments” on the island.
“Bullock Island will have a plethora of adventures to partake in,” he wrote on his Instagram. “Arrive as [a] tourist [and] leave as family.”
Per Basketball Network, Bullock has earned approximately $38 million throughout his 10-year NBA career. The 32-year-old has played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks and now the Houston Rockets.
