On today’s Outkick the Show and earlier on Outkick the Coverage, Clay Travis discussed the media’s obsession and unfair portrayal of the fired NFL coaches — particularly the fired black NFL coaches.

Clay Travis said — on Outkick the Show and on Outkick the Coverage — the New York Times’ piece in particular was egregious in their coverage of the fired black NFL coaches. Clay Travis said the New York Times story on the fired black NFL coaches was biased in its coverage.

The following coaches were fired: The Arizona Cardinals’ Steve Wilks, the Denver Broncos’ Vance Joseph, the Miami Dolphins’ Adam Gase, the Cincinnati Bengals’ Marvin Lewis, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Dirk Koetter, the New York Jets Todd Bowles, the Green Bay Packers Mike McCarthy, and Cleveland Browns Hue Jackson.

Clay Travis also congratulated — mockingly — coach Ed Orgeron and the LSU football team for winning the “national championship” after crushing UCF at the Fiesta Bowl on Monday. Clay Travis discussed Ed Orgeron and the LSU football game over UCF at the Fiesta Bowl and how LSU’s entire defense wasn’t playing and they outgained UCF by 300 yards in the Fiesta Bowl.

Clay Travis also discussed the dominance of SEC football and how SEC football is so much better than the Big 10, Big 12, ACC, and Pac 12. Yesterday, Clay Travis tweeted that he wondered if the PAC 12 should even be included in the Power Five anymore. Clay Travis also discussed the Georgia vs Texas game.

Finally, Clay Travis mentioned fallen Purdue student and fan Tyler Trent. Clay Travis said once you become a father you think differently and you put your kids first. He said that perspective makes a big difference in how you think. Clay Travis thanked Scott Van Pelt for embracing Tyler Trent and others for their kindness toward Tyler Trent who died Monday.
