Kyle Rittenhouse vows to sue LeBron James for defamation
Kyle Rittenhouse – who was acquitted of murder charges in November – says he plans to sue NBA star LeBron James for defamatory comments he wrote about the teenager as he took the stand last year.
Mr Rittenhouse appeared on the show ‘Frontlines’ where he told host Drew Hernandez he plans to hold anyone who defamed him during and after the trial accountable.
“What are your plans for LeBron James?” Mr Hernandez.
“He will be getting a letter too,” Kyle replied.
“Anyone who defamed me or lied about me, we are just going to send them a letter and deal with them in a court room.”
The 18-year-old was found not guilty of the murder of two men and the attempted murder of a third at a protest in Wisconsin in 2020.
The highly televised trial gained international reaction with some media, celebrities and politicians accused of acting as the juror from the side-lines.
When Kyle took to the witness stand during the trial he broke down in tears as he described the events.
LeBron James retweeted a video of him crying and insinuated the teenager’s tears were not real.
“What tears? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court,” he wrote.
Earlier this week Kyle Rittenhouse told Tucker Carlson he also planned to sue other media outlets and celebrities including Whoopi Goldberg.
