Jonathan W Hutto, Sr., embraced his calling as a Human Rights Organizer and Activist during his Undergraduate Years at Howard University in the mid-late 1990s. Upon his graduation, he was hired by the ACLU-NCA in September 1999 as a Community Organizer focused on Police Accountability. Since that time, Jonathan has consistently engaged the Struggle Against Police Brutality notably in Prince George’s County Maryland. His efforts alongside the Prince George’s People’s Coalition was instrumental in the PG Police Department being placed under Federal Oversight from 2004-2009. Jonathan remains engaged today and co-authored a paper on the history of the PG Struggle in the Journal of Urban Health-2016: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4824689/
