Exclusive: Erica Campbell Dishes About Easter ‘Verzuz,’ New Music And ‘Uncensored’ Episode
The multi-hyphenate artist wears many hats, including wife, mother and minister among several other duties that come along with it all.
“There’s so much going on in my life – my daughter’s graduating high school and then she’s off to Spelman, and we’ve got a new church, my son is starting to play in an orchestra, and my daughter’s running track, so there’s a lot going on in my life,” she said.
While time management is a very important aspect of maintaining her life, she is clear that she doesn’t do everything all at once.
“I don’t have to do it all on the same day at the same time,” she said. “I wear a bunch of hats, but I don’t have to wear them all at the same time. I’d look crazy.”
But one of those hats won’t be singing another genre and it certainly won’t be venturing too far from music.
“I’m winning in gospel, why would I go anywhere else? I was born to do this. I didn’t pick music, music picked me. Music picked me and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. Even when I was doing hair, I was only doing hair to finance the dream of singing and doing music. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do!”
