Curator Culture: Recovering Black History
Leslie Odom, Jr., Questlove and Dr. Jessica Harris, connect in conversation for the premiere of RECOVERING BLACK HISTORY, a Curator Culture talk hosted by Tom Healy and presented by The Bass and The Studio Museum in Harlem.
How does Black art and music inspire activism? Despite its power, why has so much of Black cultural history been hidden or forgotten? How is that history being recovered? In a wide-ranging, personal conversation, three of America’s most prominent creative talents talk about their recent work recovering some of the extraordinary events, people and stories of the Black experience in America.
The program is introduced by Silvia Karman Cubiñá, Executive Director & Chief Curator of The Bass, and Thelma Golden, Director and Chief Curator of The Studio Museum in Harlem.
