Celebrating Black History Month Balance/Yoga Brain Break Activity

Black History Month is an opportunity for us to celebrate the incredible achievements of African American people, as well as recognizing their important role in the history of the United States.
A slide will first display the name and the balance/yoga pose that you will hold while coach reads the bio on each person. Please quietly hold your pose, as you listen to the interesting facts and achievements of these heroes. All of these individuals have made important contributions to our country. Let’s honor them by learning, reflecting, and celebrating their significant role in American history.

African American Heroes in this video include:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
Rosa Parks
Jackie Robinson
Ruby Bridges
Bessie Coleman
Louis Armstrong
Oprah Winfrey
Thurgood Marshall
Maya Angelou
Muhammed Ali
Sojourner Truth
Barack Obama
Mae C. Jemison

There are so many more that I could’ve included, so I am hoping to make a second one. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.
