‘Canada’s Drag Race’ Season 4 Announces Cast, Including Oldest Competitor In Franchise History

It’s time to head back up north to Canada’s Drag Race as RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s Canadian iteration has announced its fourth season.

Season 4 of Canada’s Drag Race has revealed the cast and it includes a first–the oldest contestant in Drag Race franchise history. The entire cast includes Aimee Yonce Shennel, Aurora Matrix, Denim, Kiki Coe, Kitten Kaboodle, Luna DuBois, Melinda Verga, Nearah Nuff, Sisi Superstar, The Girlfriend Experience and Venus.

Shennel (31, she/her in drag, he/him out of drag) is originally from the Dominican Republic and is the current reigning Miss Capital Pride. She also has several other titles under her belt. Matrix (23, she/they in drag, they/them out of drag) is a popular Toronto drag performer and guest starred on Crave’s award-winning series, 1 Queen 5 Queers.

Denim (24, she/her in drag, he/him out of drag) is a transmasc queen from Montréal and has performed with stars including King Princess, Charlie XCX, Tinashe, Caroline Polachek and Kim Petras. Denim has also become an activist for neurodivergence after being diagnosed with autism. Coe (35, she/her in drag, he/him out of drag) is an Ottawa queen who has had her designs walk the Canada’s Drag Race runway. Also a chef, she has also competed in televised cooking competitions including Chopped Canada.

Kaboodle (57, she/her in drag, he/him out of drag) is the oldest contestant in franchise history. Hailing from Toronto, Kaboodle is also a popular drag designer who has had her designs on Canada’s Drag Race. DuBois (24, she/her in drag, he/him out of drag), is a Toronto-based makeup and fashion icon who hosts Drag Masterclasses in makeup and style. She also serves as an activist for BIPOC performers and for other queer Nigerians like her in the world.

Verga (44, no preference in drag, he/him out of drag) started performing in drag later in life, at age 37. Verga has made a name for herself in Edmonton including winning Mz. Gay Edmonton 2017 and Edmonton Drag Idol 2018. She also produces shows featuring Filipino and Asian cultures and underrepresented performers. Nuff (22, she/her in drag, he/him out of drag) is part of Calgary’s infamous Nuff Family and has been a competitive dancer for six years. She also has several degrees in makeup and as a clinical esthetician.

Superstar (31, she/her in drag, he/they out of drag) calls herself Montréal’s underground, hyper-pop, grunge queen. She has also created Montréal’s biggest alt queer event, Unikorn Parties. She is also a DJ, songwriter, professional event planner and community organizer. Girlfriend (31, she/her in drag, she/her out of drag) was born in Germany and grew up between Vancouver and Germany. Girlfriend has publicly documented her transition to give inspiration and help to anyone considering doing the same. Girlfriend also began producing an all-trans drag show in Vancouver.

Last but not least, Venus (21, she/her in drag, no preference out of drag) is already a drag legend at her young age in Vancouver and is a member of popular non-binary drag supergroup ENBY6. She is also a member of the Gender drag family headed by drag mother and Canada’s Drag Race alum Kendall Gender. Venus is a Red River Metis two-spirit person and often represents her Metis culture.

Season 4 of Canada’s Drag Race comes to WOW Presents Plus Nov. 16.
