(BPRW) Tuskegee University Offers Two New Innovative Degree Programs

(Black PR Wire) Tuskegee University’s College of Arts and Sciences has announced the development of two new innovative degree programs designed to accommodate both non-traditional, returning students and undecided majors. Beginning in fall 2022 with an online format, Tuskegee will offer two degrees in Liberal Studies, the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science.

The programs will present a diverse array of Humanities and STEM courses designed to reinforce critical thinking skills and highlight the importance of cross-disciplinary exposure. The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies will be fully online for non-traditional students seeking to complete undergraduate degrees they started previously. However, for current undecided major students, the program will be in person.

The new online undergraduate degree program will be designed to allow adult learners with college credits to return to complete their degrees.

“The fully online program caters to non-traditional adult students, for example, those who began a Tuskegee degree but did not complete it; thus, opening the door to finalizing a major milestone in their lives,” explained College of Arts and Sciences Dean Channa Prakash. “The programs are incentivized by the fact that students will be able to use prior Tuskegee coursework and transfer credits towards completing the degree.”

Prakash added that the program also caters to non-Tuskegee University students, such as those with an associate degree from a community college who wish to obtain a degree from Tuskegee University or transfer students from other universities. In addition, the non-traditional route for returning students will be entirely online and through Tuskegee’s Office of Distance Education and Online Learning (ODEOL).

An on-ground adaptation of the B.S. and B.A. curricula will also be available as a degree option for currently enrolled students and incoming undecided majors.

“The flexibility of the curricula offers students an exciting new path to a bachelor’s degree,” noted Dr. Adaku Ankumah, Department Chair of Modern Languages, Communication, and Philosophy. “Any Tuskegee student may enroll in the on-campus version of the degree program, and all undecided majors, beginning in fall 2022, will be allowed to choose either the B.S. or the B.A. route to pursue their studies.”

Similarly, to the College of Agriculture, Environment & Nutrition Sciences (CAENS) bachelor’s of science in Animal and Veterinary Sciences – Science option and the bachelor’s of science in Animal and Veterinary Sciences – Veterinary Science option is ideal for working adult learners focused on earning an undergraduate degree. Students will leave the program prepared to further their education in numerous graduate and professional programs.

Each course requires 126 credits to complete. The interdisciplinary nature of both the B.S. and B.A. programs ensures that students are well rounded, fundamentally sound, and have the requisite critical thinking skills to thrive and be problem solvers in an ever-evolving society.
