(BPRW) Senate Confirms Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court in Historic Vote
(Black PR Wire) Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) applauds the Senate on confirming Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court in a historic vote today. Judge Jackson is the first African American woman confirmed to the highest court in the land by the U.S. Senate.
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson received a standing ovation from her supporters in the Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris, presiding over the monumental confirmation, with a 53-47 bipartisan vote.
“Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation is a historic moment for this country,” said Ron Busby, Sr., President & CEO of USBC. “As a trailblazer and the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court, I am confident she will bring sound judgment and make tough decisions to advance our nation’s principles of equality and justice.”
