Blue Ivy Carter, the first-born daughter of music moguls Jay-Z and Beyoncé, has already accumulated a net worth of $500 million, according to the U.S. Sun. The 9-year-old girl, who is quickly making a name for herself as a talented artist, is also proving to be an example of her parents’ effort to attain generational wealth.

Jay-Z opened up about the family’s goal in 2017 when he spoke with iHeart Radio. 

“We all make money, and then we all lose money, as artists especially. But how, when you have some type of success, to transform that into something bigger,” the artist said, according to CNBC.  

Jay-Z echoed the same sentiments he expressed in his track, “Legacy,” which opens up with his daughter asking him to explain the meaning of a will.

“Generational wealth, that’s the key. My parents ain’t have s**t so that shift started with me,” the Grammy-winner said in his song. 

As Blavity previously reported, Blue Ivy made history in March when she became the second youngest Grammy winner, earning the award for her performance in her mother’s “Brown Skin Girl” video.

“Congratulations Blue. She won a Grammy tonight. I’m so proud of you, and I’m so honored to be your mommy, all of your mommys,” Beyoncé said during the historic night, recognizing Blue Ivy and all her children. “Y’all are my babies. And I’m so proud of y’all. I love you so much, my rock. Enjoy your night. Thank you.”

Blue Ivy has also earned an NAACP Image Award, a BET Award and a Soul Train Award, as Blavity previously reported. The young entertainer added another title to her resume last year when she served as the narrator for Hair Love, the acclaimed children’s book and short film written by Matthew Cherry and illustrated by Vashti Harrison.
