The Quebec Writers’ Federation presents Black Writers Out Loud – Spoken Word Edition, the second in a series of digital events celebrating Black literary arts in Quebec.
Hosted by Jason “Blackbird” Selman, in conversation with artists Roen ‘Blu Riva’ Higgins, Fabrice Koffy, and Faith Paré.
* Roen ‘Blu Riva’ Higgins is a spoken word poet who paints vivid pictures with her words and flips the script on current social issues such as mental health and racial injustice
* Fabrice Koffy is a poet from Montreal who has been performing and giving poetry workshops for 15 years; he is currently at work on a new book and album
* Faith Paré is a poet and performer of Afro-Guyanese and Québécois ancestries, and the recent recipient of the Quebec Writers’ Federation’s 2020 Mairuth Sarsfield Mentorship for Underrepresented Writers
* Jason “Blackbird” Selman is a Montreal born poet, trumpet player and community worker
