Black-Owned Sauce Now On Shelves in Over 99 Schnucks Supermarkets

Reggie D. Smith founder of STL Pure Heat, started his company in 2013 and has become an instant household staple according to Black News. The Black-owned sauce has three different flavors Sweet n Spicy, Sweet and Mild, and Garlic Heat. In 2020 the sauce was named the 2nd Best in the World at the Scovie Awards, which  recognizes the best fiery foods and barbecue products in the world. Sauces all across the world was judged by a panel. At the end of 2020, their sauces were selected to be sold at Schnucks Market, the largest independent grocery store in the country having over 99 stores that will now retail STL Pure Heat Sauces.

Category manager for Schnuck Markets Inc. Said Pam Hild said  “I am always excited to feature local products in our stores because our Schnucks customers love to support local businesses just like we do.”

“My personal favorite is the Garlic Heat,” Hild said.

Smith says, “It’s an amazing feeling to know that you can go into a store you grew up going to with your mom, grandmother, and aunt to buy groceries, and now see your face on the shelf.”

“To see my face on that shelf it’s almost like, ‘Mama, I made it,’” he said.
