Be Healthier This Summer with Your COVID-19 Vaccine

The following post was sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Health.

As the seasons change, summer brings opportunities for more gatherings, outdoor activities, and a chance to focus on health. One vital step in staying healthy this summer is ensuring you’re up to date on your COVID-19 vaccine. With over two years of proven safety and effectiveness, these vaccines have been crucial in managing the virus and reducing hospitalizations. Protect yourself and those around you by getting vaccinated and making this summer your healthiest yet.

Be healthier this summer with your COVID-19 vaccine: The change of seasons
brings with it many things: the opportunity for more gatherings, more time outdoors, and
being more active. It’s also a time for getting healthier, which includes being up to date
on your vaccines. Getting a vaccine can protect you and those around you. COVID-19
vaccines have been in use for more than two years, are proven to be safe and effective,
and have greatly helped to manage the virus and avoid hospitalizations.

Kids can be healthier this summer: Did you know that everyone 6 months and older
can get an updated COVID-19 vaccine? Make sure your children are as healthy as they
can be this summer by getting them up to date on their shots. Getting a vaccine also
saves medical resources and protects your child as they go out into the world for
playdates and hangouts. Everyone 6 months and older should get an annual
vaccination, especially those at high-risk for severe complications from the virus,
including young children and people with certain chronic health conditions like asthma.

Vaccines are still key to keeping healthy: A healthy lifestyle is a practice: it can
involve several things, from staying active to maintaining relationships that help improve
your well-being. Another key to good health is staying up to date on your COVID-19
vaccines. Everyone 6 months and older should get an annual vaccination, which can
usually be found at your health care provider’s office or your local pharmacy. Stay up to
date on your COVID-19 vaccines to protect yourself and others and have a healthier
summer.
