Arkansas High School Students Plan A Protest During School After Black and White Both Get Suspended The Same Amount of Time. Although The White Student Started The Fight
An Black Arkansas high school student was suspended for the same amount of time as a white student who started a fight with him during school. Then the students at the school staged a sit-in at the high school after the decision. Fellow students recorded the incident and posted it on social media, sparking the questioning of the administration’s response to bullying and systemic racial bias in school. The video since gone viral on social media.
The fight took place in a locker room at Fordyce High School located in Fordyce, Arkansas was started by a white student. It’s unclear when the incident happened, but it was posted on Feb. 25 on Twitter.
Video shows a Black teen getting dressed as the “white bully” is yelling at him with comments about his mother.
The Black teen was seen trying to ignore those insults, and at one point attempts to walk away, while the bully is encouraged by other students to continue the verbal attacks and threatens to physically assault him. The video, a little over 2 minutes, shows the Black boy eventually responding after being hit by an object and pushed by the white teen.
During the fight the white teen places the Black teen into a headlock until, he is left lying unconscious on the floor. While was unconscious, the white student kicks him in the head and stomps him on his back.
The students were never stopped in the video by a teacher or coach.
