GOZYU UNICORN JUST GOT FIRED?! | No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger News
Major Gozyuger news today — Maya Imamori, the actress who plays Sumino / Gozyu Unicorn, has officially been removed from the show.
While many fans online speculated that it had to do with recent controversies, reports now confirm that the reason was underage drinking, which is taken very seriously in Japan. Following the incident, Maya’s contract was terminated, and she’s also left her talent agency.
So what happens next for Gozyuger?
There’s no official word yet, but fans are guessing that the Unicorn Ring might find a new host — maybe even Oto’s revival or a new character like Assam could take the mantle.
This situation definitely shocked the fandom, especially with Gozyuger entering its final stretch. We’ll be keeping an eye out for Toei’s official statement and any updates on who will step in as the next Gozyu Unicorn.

The title contains Get Ready (荒れるぜ Areru ze), a phrase used by Daigo Kiryu/Kyoryu Red of the Kyoryugers as his pre-battle catchphrase, in reference to GozyuEagle using the Kyoryuger Ring in the RyoTegaSword.

No.1 Sentai Gozyuger (ナンバーワン戦隊ゴジュウジャー Nanbā Wan Sentai Gojūjā) is a Japanese Tokusatsu drama. It is the 49th installment in Toei Company’s Super Sentai Series and commemorates its 50th anniversary. The series premiered February 16, 2025, joining Kamen Rider Gavv in the Super Hero Time line-up after the finale of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger. After the end of Gavv, Gozyuger will be joined by Kamen Rider Zeztz.
The “Universe War” was a large-scale conflict involving the various giants of the different universes against a threat simply known as “The Calamity”. At the brink of defeat, TegaSword appeared and the giants offered their powers, creating the “Sentai Rings”, who destroyed the Calamity but also provoked the destruction and recreation of the universe with the rings scattered across the cosmos. Sometime later, five outcasts from society are given the chance to change their lives when TegaSword chooses them to transform into the Gozyugers, who are tasked with gathering the Sentai Rings and the one who assembles all of them will get their wish granted, which starts a competition not only between the group, but against the No One World Bridan, as well other people that have been chosen to also get their wish granted dubbed the “Universe Warriors”.
