The Legendary Story Behind Harlem's “Queen of Soul Food”
In this episode of Ghost Kitchen, we visit the iconic Sylvia’s, “the Queen of Soul Food.” Located in the heart of Harlem, Sylvia’s has been one of the most popular restaurants in New York City since its doors opened in 1962. We speak to Chef Marcus Woods and Tren’ness Woods-Black, who tell the story of how their Grandmother came to open this historic restaurant, how they continue to keep her legacy alive today, and why Sylvia’s has become an irreplaceable pillar of the neighborhood and the entire city.
