Speculative Writers At Purdue
We are speculative writers in Purdue’s Creative Writing MFA Program and have received a grant from our university to support us in attending WisCon to read our creative work. We write from the intersections of gender, queerness, race, and disability. Carey’s science fiction explores relationships, transhumanism, and bodily cohabitation. Kristyn’s literary interests include artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and the intersection of technology and relationships. Daschielle uses magical realism to examine blackness, womanhood, Haitian culture and migration. Johnay’s contemporary fantasy encompasses her experiences as a woman of color in America. Tamara writes secondary world fantasy in which women mother their children after death and supernatural girls fall in love.
