Woman Accuses Black Entrepreneur of Selling Drugs From Her Bike, While She Was Actually Selling Her Products
A Black entrepreneur was delivering hair products to her clients at a local park in Sacramento when she was accused of selling drugs by a white woman. The incident was captured in a TikTok video that has since gone viral. Ronnie Marie Paiva, the owner of Marie’s Luxury Hair Extensions, was being questioned in a video posted on social media on July 22, by a person named @prettii_tb. The video shows Paiva making a delivery to her client while on her bike when she was stopped and questioned by an unidentified woman who said the interaction “looks like a drug deal.”
Paiva showed the woman her products in her bike basket that weren’t drugs but a bundle of extensions and other hair accessories. “Ma’am. Do you see what this is? Hair extension,” she said. Paiva informed the concerned neighbor that she was a resident in the neighborhood. Along with the fact that she owned a business for almost seven years and pays over $50,000 in taxes.
When she was asked why she’s selling her products at the park, Paiva responded, “Because I can. It’s a public park” she said, “Do you own the park? Can people pick up here? It’s just a pickup.” The white woman said that “everyone” in the area was concerned about “the girl on the bike dealing drugs.” That’s when Paiva instructed her to call the police. The woman said she didn’t want to call police but warned Paiva that someone else might.
She later went on her Instagram account and shared a follow-up post explaining the incident in more detail.
