Rapper and Pretty Ricky member Baby Blue has been hospitalized after he was attacked and shot by two robbers at a bowling alley in Miami, Florida during a release party for a new song.

Representatives of the artist say he’s in critical condition after he was shot trying to stave off the assailants, according to Revolt TV. After the altercation, he was rushed to the hospital where he’s been “fighting for his life.”

A graphic video clip of the shooting’s aftermath was discovered online and appears to show Baby Blue on the floor as someone screams for help.

NBC 6 reports that the Davie Police Department confirmed the shooting took place at the SpareZ Bowling Alley. Police officials say that two victims were in the parking lot of the bowling alley adjacent to their cars when two unknown suspects approached them and an altercation ensued. Police reported that someone attempted to steal a gold chain necklace during the dispute which led to one of the suspects firing shots that hit Baby Blue in the left shoulder.

According to TSR, the 36-year-old artist’s team verified that he was injured in the shooting while celebrating the release of his new single, “Jerry Rice,” per Revolt TV.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the shooting and are looking for any information in connection to the suspects. Police officials said that one of the suspects fled the scene wearing a black hoodie with a face covering, and the second suspect was wearing a grey hoodie with a face covering.

The popular Miami music group Pretty Ricky rose to success in the mid-2000s with their gold-selling albums Bluestars and Late Night Special.  The group went platinum with their hits “Grind With Me” and “On The Hotline.” After a three-year break, the group released “Puddles” in February 2015.

At 2019’s Millennium Tour, Pretty Ricky joined beloved 2000s artists and bands like B2K, Mario, Chingy, Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd and Bobby Valentino on stage. The group has been developing a reunion album, which was expected to feature the hit single “Body,” according to HipHop Wire.
