Morgellons disease.

Did you know that a mysterious condition has baffled both patients and doctors for years, involving claims of colorful fibers emerging from the skin?
Here are some intriguing facts about Morgellons disease:

Morgellons patients report unusual fibers or filaments sprouting from skin lesions, which can be red, blue, black, or white in color.

The condition is named after a 1674 medical paper that described similar symptoms, despite being coined in modern times.

A study of 122 Morgellons patients found a high prevalence in middle-aged Caucasian women and an increased association with tick-borne diseases and hypothyroidism.

The fibers associated with Morgellons are reportedly nearly indestructible by heat or chemical means, making them difficult to analyze using conventional methods.

While the medical consensus views Morgellons as a form of delusional parasitosis, some researchers argue that it may be linked to a systemic infection, potentially related to Lyme disease.
