An Maryland 11-year-old professional pool phenom plays in billiards tournaments all over the country. D’Angelo Spain is already the top-ranked player in the 13 and under division of the Junior International Championship (JIC).
Spain’s parents say everything started when the family went to purchase a karaoke machine when the pre-teen asked if the family could buy a pool table instead. D’Angelo told FOX 5 DC that he plays pool for 5 to 6 hours every single day. D’Angelo’s 9-year-old sister, Franki, is also a pool player as well. Their passion for billiards has the pair spending a lot of time practicing to perfect their craft.
The next big tournament for D’Angelo is the International Open in Norfolk Virginia in November 2022. To compete at this level, the cost are his, therefore the family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to help with travel and tournament fees.
