Esteban de Dorantes was an important explorer connected to the Coronado Expedition. He and fray Marcos de Niza led the reconnaissance expedition to Cíbola in 1539. Esteban was an enslaved African, and praised for his ability to communicate with indigenous peoples.BFE could be a location in Egypt before itwas associated with Black Flag Expedition .
