Luh Tyler’s Laid-Back Rap Lyrics Have Helped Him Establish A Blossoming Career In Hip-Hop
Raising Florida rapper Luh Tyler is the latest young artist to have all eyes on him. The young artist has created a buzz in his hometown after sharing his music on streaming platforms and performing at summer festivals.
The 17-year-old, born Tyler Meeks, is a Tallahassee native. His song “Law & Order” went viral on TikTok in 2022.
After the successful release of his debut mixtape, My Vision, in March, Luh Tyler proved to be far from a one-hit wonder.
He’s only been rapping professionally for one summer and rhymes about things like dating ladies, smoking weed and making money.
Luh Tyler’s music is generated on low-stake tracks he records on his phone using an app called BandLab over unmastered beats he discovered on YouTube, according to HotNewHipHop.
One of the youngest rappers to make the XXL Freshman list at 17, Luh Tyler was listed with other breakout artists, including GloRilla, TiaCorine and Central Cee.
The Florida rapper titled one of his songs after the Atlanta Instagram influencer and entrepreneur “Jayda Wayda.”
He is gaining support from rap vets like Drake, who recently followed the young artist on Instagram.
“When Drake followed me… I didn’t even know he followed me,” he told Rolling Stone.
The “Back Flippin” artist self-identifies as a “chill person” who loves marijuana. While speaking with GQ, he revealed he’s chosen to live a substance-free life outside of smoking weed.
“I don’t even consider weed a drug; that sh*t be legal!” he told the publication.” I don’t wanna mess with all that.”
The Tallahassee artist also deems himself frugal after declaring he would not spend his money on unnecessary purchases.
“I’m really a cheap ass!” he continued. “I’m not gonna be spending on women like that. I don’t wear designer, nothing like that.”
