In Bloom (2024) | Short Film | Fujifilm XT-30 | Gothic Romance | Black & White
A haunting short film about the fading memory of a tragic romance.
In Bloom is a ghost story that is equal parts horror and heartbreak. Featuring stark black-and-white cinematography from up-and-coming DP Xuepei Hou and raw lead performances from Daniel Oakley and María Limón, In Bloom has been praised by viewers as “visual poetry” reminiscent of the cinema of “Bergman, Fellini, and Antonioni.”
Leonard Crooks, executive producer of arthouse classics such as Morvern Callar (Lynne Ramsay, 2002) and Red Road (Andrea Arnold, 2006), called In Bloom, “a beautiful evocation of loss.”
