‘I’m Already Miserable Where I’m At’: Ari Lennox Suggests Fame Sucks, Isn’t Rushing To Do New Album
Back in 2019, Lennox released her debut album, Shea Butter Baby. The album garnered rave reviews, as Blavity previously reported. Eventually, she nabbed her first platinum plaque for its single and title track, “Shea Butter Baby.”
Although she may not be dropping another album for a while, she still loves to feel the energy of the crowd during her live performances. Performing for the first time in a year due to COVID-19, Lennox expressed the excitement of performing her songs to a live audience last month, the Huff Post reported.
“I’ll say that it’s very therapeutic because this is what makes me happy — singing,” she said. “And it’s been hard singing for only cameras and not people, so to see people smiling and jamming with me, it just feels so real and surreal.”
Until she releases another project, fans of Lennox will have to keep Shea Butter Baby and her guest features in heavy rotation.
