‘I Wasn’t Gonna Leave Home’: Kandi Burruss’ Ex Says That the Singer Was His Side Chick
Russell “Block” Spencer, the ex-boyfriend of signer and reality star Kandi Burruss had some things to say about their relationship during a recent VladTV interview. Burruss and Spencer dated for a short time in 2001 and had a daughter together Riley Burruss. Spencer, owner of record label Block Entertainment was asked why the relationship didn’t work out, to which he replied that he was “all the way street,” and Burruss was his “side chick.”
“It wasn’t going to work for a couple of reasons,” he said. “I’m all the way street. We gonna do what we do. And I know a lot of people that get on my a– about, you know, choosing a side chick.”
Spencer also said he had two daughters before he met Burruss and he went back and fourth between the two ladies. “It wasn’t solid,” he said. “I already had a family…I wasn’t gonna leave home.”
However, Burruss disputed Spencer’s account of their relationship and revealed he lied to her about being with the children’s mother, Key Montana. The reality star added that she was pregnant when she first discovered that the Block Entertainment founder lied to her. Then she ended the relationship.
“To be clear he was not married to his first baby mama at all,” said Burruss. “They were never married; they lived together and had kids together. They were never married …. But, mind you, when I dated him, it was not for a long period of time, and the reason why I found out … like a couple of people had told me that they had heard he was still kicking it with his kids’ mom. So I asked him multiple times, ‘Are you still dating her?’ And he’s like ‘no,’ you know, lying. Girls, ladies, y’all know how you can date a dude and he is kicking it with somebody else or with somebody else and be lying. He was lying about everything.”
She went on to say that she found out he was lying to her after checking his voicemail. She said she heard voice messages from Montana, and other women. After confronting him about it again, she called Montana and found out the truth and never dated Spencer again.
