Teachers in Jacksonville, Florida, have emptied their bookshelves in compliance with a new law requiring all books be reviewed by a media specialist, unless they are approved by the state.
The HB 1467 law, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, allows teachers to be charged with a third degree felony if they “knowingly or unknowingly” provide access to books deemed harmful to minors.
