Endometriosis: Misdiagnosis and Bias in Healthcare

Black women are less likely to be diagnosed with endometriosis. Many are misdiagnosed with fibroids or told their pain is normal. The strong Black woman stereotype can keep us quiet when we should be speaking up—and that silence leads to suffering.

Many Black women with endometriosis face misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, and outright dismissal by healthcare providers. In this episode, we break down why Black women’s pain is ignored, the lack of research in Black communities, treatment options, and how to advocate for proper care. Tune in for advocacy tips, advice, and resources to help you take control of your health. #Endometriosis #BlackWomensHealth #MedicalBias
