DIY Labels to Organize Your Home

I love a clean, organized home but with kids, that’s not always realistic. Most of the time we do a pretty good job at keeping things in order. Sometimes though in the hustle and bustle of daily life, maintaining an organized home can be a challenge. We recently made the switch to new storage containers for some of our home supplies. One of the first things I wanted to do when switching over was making sure that everything was labeled. I couldn’t find any labels that I loved for our new containers so I made my own with my Cricut Joy.

These labels definitely go with any home aesthetic. I kept them simple and minimalistic because I wanted them to match the decor no matter the vibe. They’re super quick and easy to make. Whether you’re wanting to organize your pantry, get your laundry room together or label your cleaning supplies this is the perfect DIY.

Instructions
- Create the design in Cricut Design Space or import a design that you’ve created. (My design is linked here)
- Customize the design using your own fonts and colors.
- Measure and size your labels to fit your container.
- Make your labels using the Cricut Smart Label Writable Vinyl.
- Place your labels onto the containers.
Tips for Creating DIY Labels with Cricut Joy
Even though these DIY labels are the perfect project for beginners, there’s a few things to keep in mind before diving into this project. It’s super important to pick the right materials for your project. You want to make sure that you pick materials that are compatible with the Cricut Joy. If you don’t have a Joy, you could use a Cricut Maker or an Explore machine as well but just keep in mind that the materials you use will be different.
I used these labels on glass containers with smart writeable vinyl. However if you’re using baskets or storage bins, you may want to use a different material depending on what the baskets are made of. You could apply permanent vinyl to a leather label and attach it with twine if you’re using a wicker basket.
