DIY King and Queen Shirts
These matching king and queen shirts are perfect for date night, gift giving or even couples photos. Create them using this easy step-by-step tutorial.
Family matching is my jam. Sometimes I love to just match without the kids. Back for Valentine’s Day I wanted to make these super cute shirts for a TV segment I had. They were a huge hit on the segment so I wanted to share the tutorial with you so you could make your very own DIY king and queen shirts.
DIY King and Queen Shirts
This DIY is super simple. You really only need 4 supplies: blank t-shirts (a polyester/cotton blend works best), a sublimation transfer sheet (I use Cricut Infusible Ink), your design, and a heat press. I used my Cricut Maker to cut out the design onto my Infusible Ink transfer sheets but if you have an explore that works too. You can use a traditional heat press for transferring the design to the shirt or you could use a Cricut heat press like I did. Either one will work just as well so use what you have.
Supplies
- Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker
- Heat press (I use a Cricut EasyPress)
- Cricut Infusible Ink (cherry red)
- Butcher paper
- White t-shirts
- Design
Instructions
- Open your design in Cricut Design Space.
- Place your Infusible Ink sheet onto your standard grip mat.
- Before cutting your image, make sure the design is mirrored. Cut the design onto your Infusible Ink.
- Place a sheet of cardstock inside the shirt to prevent the ink from seeping through.
- Once your design is cut out, place it face down onto your shirt.
- Put a sheet of butcher paper on top of the transfer sheet.
- Preheat your Cricut EasyPress to 385 degrees.
- Using light pressure, press the design onto the shirt for 40 seconds. Allow to cool slightly before removing the transfer sheet.
- Remove the transfer sheet and get ready to wear!
