Members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. gathered on the Navy Steps of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House campus to celebrate Founders Day.

“Today, as we celebrate Founders Day, we reflect on our Founders, and we are committed to preserving our history through continuous Scholarship, Sisterhood, Service, and Social Action,” said Myra Caesar, Special Assistant to the President and Director of White House Personnel.

Caesar, along with members of the Executive Office of the President Delta Committee, Jamila Thompson, Deidre Jacas, Jamesa Hunter, Eugina Shelton, Nataki MacMurray, Tashi Brown, Shavonne Holman, Falisa Peoples-Tittle, Deb Grays, Christi Johnson, Charmion Kinder, Masanue Vah, and Shajuan Chance-Underwood hosted the members on the White House campus for the shoot that was done on January 5, 2025.

Some of the notable members included in the photo include: International President Elsie Cooke-Holmes, 16th Past National President Dr. Thelma T. Daley, Honorary member Joy-Ann Reid, Past Eastern Regional Director Rosie Allen Herring, Stacey Dixon, Artis Hampshire-Cowen, Charlene Dukes, Ashley Etienne, Leslie Tune, Lisa Grant, Diane Brown, and Karla Green. “These notable members and the over 150 women pictured represent various organizations and federal entities and pay homage to the sorority’s historic founding and commitment to public service,” Caesar stated in an email.

“We proudly serve in a myriad of leadership roles, spanning Media, Education, the Biden-Harris Administration, the United States Military, Career government positions, and Congress. As we celebrate Founders Day, we extend our warmest wishes to all members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. around the world and remind Deltas everywhere to remember the spirit of our Founders today and every day.”

As the celebration concluded, the gathering on the Navy Steps of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building served as a powerful testament to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s enduring legacy of scholarship, sisterhood, service, and social action. The presence of esteemed members, past and present leaders, and those shaping policy and progress today is a visual testament to the organization’s profound impact over the past 112 years.
