Delonte West Now Works at Rehab Center That Helped Get Him Back On His Feet
Former NBA player Delonte West has been going through the personal struggles that ended his professional sports career. West experienced an assault by an unknown assailant and mental health struggles. The 37-year-old’s fortunes finally changed in September after a few photos of him surfaced online which showed West hoilding a sign at an intersection in Dallas.
Once the photo went viral Philadelphia Sixers coach Doc Rivers offered their help. However, after West’s mother Delphina Addison, asked Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to find her son, Cuban did exactly that and more. Cuban picked West up himself at a Dallas-area gas station and covered any related expenses to get the former Maverick the help needed. In the months since, Cuban has respected West’s privacy as he undergoes treatment at a rehabilitation center, while providing the public with glimpses into West’s recovery.
