(BPRW) The Black Women’s Empowerment Conference set for April 9th

(Black PR Wire) The 2nd Annual Black Women’s Empowerment Conference held by the Tufts Africana Center is a one-day hybrid event scheduled for April 9, 2022, and is open and free to all Black women and femme undergraduate and graduate students attending an institute of higher education in the Northeast or across the United States. Our conference seeks to empower Black women and femme postsecondary students by providing them with the wellness, networking, and leadership skills necessary to succeed in their academic and professional careers. We hope to do this by holding lectures, panels, and workshops featuring Black women scholars, industry professionals, and influencers.

The theme for the 2022 BWEC is Radical Self-Love. Our goal is to inspire conversations about care for oneself and one’s community and to uplift Black women by holding in-person and virtually accessible lectures, panels, and workshops featuring Black women scholars, industry professionals, and influencers.

At our inaugural conference in spring 2022, themed “I Am Because We Are,” we held 10+ Workshops, Panels and Other Sessions | 40+ Speakers | 1 Keynote Speaker | Virtual Social Events

WHAT IS THE BLACK WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT CONFERENCE?

The 2022 Tufts University Black Women’s Empowerment Collective (BWEC) will be held in a hybrid format on Tufts Medford/Somerville campus and streamed virtually.

The conference is free of cost!

This free event is catered to Black women undergraduate and graduate students attending universities in Northeast and beyond. There is an opportunity to attend components of the conference virtually.
