(BPRW) NCNW Announces 61st National Convention Tri-Chairs

(Black PR Wire) WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) is pleased to announce Cecily Robinson-Duffie, Esq., Komisha McGill Brown, and Dr. Stacie NC Grant as Tri-Chairs for its 61st National Convention. Each of the Convention Chairs is a leader of one of NCNW’s 36 affiliate organizations and brings a unique gift to the first convention of the New Era of NCNW.

NCNW’s 61st National Convention will be held in Baltimore, Maryland, from October 9-13 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The biennial National Convention is a meeting of the voting body, members and affiliates of NCNW to conduct business as well as a convening of Black women and their allies to discuss issues pertaining to Black women, their families, and communities. About The National Convention Tri-Chairs

Cecily Robinson-Duffie, Esq. is the 22nd National President of The Charmettes, Incorporated, a 70-year-old organization which has donated more than $950,000.00 to the Howard University Cancer Center. She received a B.S. from the University of Florida in 1986 and earned a juris doctorate from Nova University in December 1988 where she was the youngest to graduate in her law school class. She was employed with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Legal Services of Greater Miami, and the State of Florida Attorney General’s Office prior to embarking upon private practice in 1994. Her practice includes real estate litigation and probate and guardianship representation. Among other affiliations, she is a tenured mother of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, and currently serves as Secretary of the Miami Chapter Associates. Robinson-Duffie has been inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Sponsors at Morehouse College and is a lifetime member of the historic St. John Institutional Missionary Baptist Church of Miami where her family has worshipped for more than 100 years and 5 generations. She currently serves as a Deaconess, a member of the Board of Directors, and Director of the church’s Vacation Bible School. Attorney Robinson-Duffie and her husband of 38 years, Minister Troy Duffie, are the parents of 5 children: Rev. Dr. Cecil Andrew Duffie and Cecily A. Duffie, and Minister Troy Adam Duffie, Caitlyn and Trinity Duffie.

Kornisha McGill Brown is the 27th National President of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. A native of Thomaston, Georgia, Brown received a B.A. in Political Science from Spelman College and M.Ed. from the University of Georgia. As an educator, servant leader, small business managing partner, and philanthropist, she has dedicated the majority of her life to supporting and advocating for youth in the community for which she was honored by President Joe Biden, Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff, and 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston in 2023. Brown is a member of several organizations including NCNW affiliates The Links, Incorporated, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is married to Dr. Darius K. Brown, Sr., and they are the proud parents of two children—Jordan and Darius Jr. The family currently resides in Columbus, Georgia.

Dr. Stacie NC Grant has spent countless hours quietly volunteering her time and service in the community through her civic engagement and youth mentorship. Her body of work is punctuated by receiving the 2016 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteer Service from President Barack Obama. Dr. Grant is the founder of Destiny Designers University®, the only multi-media training & development platform for Faithpreneurs® (faith-based entrepreneurs and faith-based professionals) who grow their wealth-generating practices around an affinity to God and faith. On July 24, 2022, Dr. Grant became the International President & CEO of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She is the 26th President of this 104 year old organization with over 130 thousand members and close to 900 chapters across 12 countries. She is also the past President of the St. John’s University Black Alumni Association, and a member of The Links, Incorporated Greater Queens (NY) Chapter.
