(BPRW) Latimer.AI and Black Girls Code Partner to Empower the Next Generation of Black Women in Tech

(Black PR Wire) NEW YORK, NY – Latimer.AI, the first inclusive Large Language Model (LLM), is proud to announce a collaboration with Black Girls Code (BGC), a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2011 and is a trailblazer in diversifying the tech industry by empowering Blacks girls and young women to pursue careers in technology. Through the partnership, BGC students will be provided unlimited access to the emerging platform, so they can engage with and utilize an AI model that provides an environment where bias is mitigated and additional data has been trained-in to enhance their learning experiences. As part of this collaboration, John Pasmore, Founder and CEO of Latimer.AI, and Cristina Mancini, CEO of Black Girls Code, will embark on a mini speakers tour with AI Yard Fest, a recently launched daylong event dedicated to bridging tech, talent and culture at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to foster innovation, infrastructure and inclusion, sponsored by HBCU Cares.

“AI is reshaping every aspect of our lives, from healthcare to education, yet no one is thinking about who is doing the coding,” says Mancini. “When a community is not involved and their  experience is missing, you can unintentionally code bias into technologies and that’s why I love the work that John Pasmore and Latimer.AI are doing to ensure inclusivity and representation are at the forefront. It’s really important to me that our girls see themselves in the technology that they use. The ability for BGC to use a tech product built with them in mind is an invaluable tool.”

With Black women significantly underrepresented in the tech workforce and even more underrepresented in AI, this partnership provides a unique opportunity for the BGC community to engage with AI in a hands-on manner. Not only will students benefit from Latimer.AI’s commitment to delivering historically accurate and unbiased information, but they will also gain insight into the intricate coding and development processes behind this innovative technology.

“By utilizing our AI to support programs such as Black Girls Code, we have the opportunity for new talent to become builders and creators of the technology, and inspire the next generation of innovators,” says Pasmore. “I believe our AI is more than just technology—it’s a tool for transformation. Supporting  these efforts ensures the future of tech is built by people with a wide range of perspectives, creativity and talent.”

Beyond this partnership, Mancini and Pasmore are committed to empowering Black and Brown communities nationwide, and will be visiting HBCUs throughout Alabama at the beginning of 2025 during their tour with AI Yard Fest to share their experiences and expertise with students. Together, they continue to seek partnerships with like-minded organizations dedicated to creating equitable opportunities for diverse communities in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

“This partnership represents a shared vision for a future where technology reflects the diversity of the world it serves,” adds Pasmore. “By equipping young Black girls and women with cutting-edge tools and knowledge, this collaboration is a movement toward equity in innovation. Together, we are not just bridging the tech gap but building a stronger, more inclusive foundation for the next generation.”
