(BPRW) Girl Power Rocks and the Embassy of the State of Qatar Announce $500,000 Partnership to Expand Housing, Education, and Innovation for Girls and Young Women in Miami
(Black PR Wire) MIAMI, FL – Girl Power Rocks (GPR) today announced a transformative partnership with the Embassy of the State of Qatar to expand access to safe housing, education, mentorship, and innovative digital support for girls and young women in Miami. Through this partnership, the Embassy of the State of Qatar has invested $500,000 to support GPR’s core programs, including Mama Hattie’s House, the Florida Girls Initiative, direct service staffing, and the Life’sPilot digital innovation pilot.
This investment strengthens Girl Power Rocks’ comprehensive ecosystem of services designed to support girls and young women facing housing instability, academic disruption, and economic insecurity. Funds will support the development of Mama Hattie’s House a landmark affordable housing and services initiative in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood along with after-school and mentoring programs, workforce and STEAM initiatives, student transportation, and technology-enabled interventions that promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
Mama Hattie’s House is being developed in partnership with Housing Trust Group and will include affordable residential units alongside dedicated space for education, health, and supportive services. The project represents a major step forward in expanding safe housing options and wraparound services for vulnerable young women in Miami-Dade County.
“Education, housing stability, and mentorship are foundational pillars for long-term success,” said Thema Campbell, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Girl Power Rocks. “This partnership with the Embassy of the State of Qatar enables us to deepen our impact, strengthen our infrastructure, and ensure that girls and young women have the support, dignity, and opportunity they deserve.”
The Embassy of the State of Qatar is excited to partner with Girl Power Rocks to help girls and young women in Miami,” said Qatar’s Ambassador to the United States, Meshal Bin Hamad Al-Thani. “We actively seek to make charitable contributions that have a large impact on worthy groups in the U.S. Girl Power Rocks was a natural fit for us because it helps so many young women in vital ways that range from housing to education. We are proud to play a small part in supporting the fantastic work they do.
