(BPRW) FPL and Partners Help Spread Joy this Holiday Season at Shopping Spree Event

Proud Sponsor of the 100 Black Men of South Florida’s Annual Event

Miami Gardens, FL – Recently, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) partnered with 100 Black Men of South Florida for their Annual Holiday Shopping Spree. The event took place at the Walmart in Miami Gardens. 

Over 200 children, ages 5 – 17, paired up with volunteers from FPL, 100 Black Men of South Florida, and a host of other partner businesses and organizations. Each child had a budget of $100 to spend as they wished for their holiday purchases, which ranged from bicycles to games and toys and much more.

The Holiday Shopping Spree helps bring the joy of the Christmas and the holiday season to economically disadvantaged individuals in South Florida. The event is a collaborative effort among community partners, including Walmart, American Airlines, CBS South Florida, the Links, and the various PanHellenic members of the Divine 9.

FPL is honored to sponsor the 100 Black Men Holiday Shopping Spree which aims to further strengthen our community and help build character, create hope, aspirations, plans and futures for tomorrow’s leaders.
