(Black PR Wire) Daymond John is an entrepreneur, investor, fashion designer, orator, author, and television personality. He is the co-founder and CEO of sportswear maker FUBU. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Daymond John grew up in Hollis Queens, New York City. Before becoming a TV star as an investor in the four-time Emmy Award-winning show Shark Tank, Daymond co-founded FUBU (“For Us, By Us”) in the early 1990s. FUBU started as a small streetwear brand catering to the urban fashion market and quickly gained recognition for its authentic style and representation of urban culture, becoming synonymous with hip-hop.
John joined Shark Tank in 2009 and has since invested over six figures of his own money in Shark Tank companies. Daymond’s success extends beyond FUBU and television. He has authored several influential books, including his New York Times best-selling books, The Power of Broke (2016) and Rise and Grind (2018). He has received numerous accolades, including the Brandweek Marketer of the Year and two NAACP Entrepreneurs of the Year Awards. Daymond John’s contributions to entrepreneurship and marketing have been widely acknowledged. In 2015, President Obama named Daymond as a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE) to promote underserved entrepreneurs. His dedication to entrepreneurship and impressive achievements make him a real trailblazer in the business world.
