(BPRW) Advancing Maternal Health During Black Breastfeeding Week
(Black PR Wire) As we recognize Black Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 25–31, we celebrate the strength and resilience of Black mothers and highlight the importance of advancing maternal health equity. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), breastfeeding provides important health benefits for both infants and mothers, yet disparities in breastfeeding rates persist among Black families. Expanding access to culturally responsive lactation support, respectful maternity care, and family-friendly workplace policies can help address barriers and improve health outcomes, the CDC notes. By working together, we can help ensure that every mother has the resources to meet her breastfeeding goals and every family has the opportunity to thrive.
