(Black PR Wire) The 2024 Miami Super Showdown High School Football (Classic) is set to take center stage at the historic Nathaniel Traz Powell Stadium, also known as THE MECCA, on Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17, 2024. This electrifying event will feature top-ranked varsity football teams from the Greater Miami Athletic Conference competing against premier public and private high school football teams from across South Florida.

The Classic will kick off on Friday, August 16 (BLOCK I), with games at 5:30 PM Edison Vs. Miramar (Miramar, FL) and 8:30 PM Central Vs. Vanguard (Ocala, FL), followed by a full slate of matchups on Saturday, August 17, from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. BLOCK II starts at 10:00 AM Homestead Vs. Cardinal Newman (West Palm Beach, FL), and 1:00 PM Norland Vs. Armood (Seffner, FL). BLOCK III starts at 5:30 PM Carol City Vs. Jackson, and 8.30 PM Northwestern Vs. Palmetto. This highly anticipated series of games marks the beginning of the Florida High School Athletic Association football season and promises to deliver thrilling gridiron action.

Team coaches include former NFL player Teddy Bridgewater now the head coach at Northwestern, his alma mater, and iconic rapper and producer Luke “Uncle Luke” Campbell, now the head coach at Edison High School. Although their paths were very different, Teddy Bridgewater and Luke Campbell are united in their commitment to giving back to the youth in the communities that helped shape them, embodying the event’s mission of fostering community and youth development through sports.

“The Classic is more than just a series of exhibition high school football games; The Classic is a significant fundraising event aimed at supporting the participating high schools, and uplifting their communities,” says Eugene Gilbert, founder of the Super ShowDown High School Football Classic.

“It is an incredible honor to stand alongside hometown heroes like Teddy Bridgewater and Luke Campbell, who, like all of the coaches, live to serve their communities, particularly the youth of those communities. Funds raised will benefit participating teams and grassroots non-profit organizations in Miami, enhancing their financial and economic outlook.
