Blavity Media Group is expanding into connected TV advertising through a new channel sales partnership with OTTera, a global OTT technology and distribution platform.

The agreement makes Blavity Media Group an authorized channel sales partner for OTTera’s advertising inventory, allowing brand partners to extend campaigns beyond BMG’s digital ecosystem and into connected TV screens in Black households across the U.S.

The partnership adds connected TV (CTV) placements to BMG’s portfolio for the first time. Through OTTera’s network, campaigns can now be distributed across more than 600 live streaming applications and more than 2,000 FAST channels, reaching nearly 100 million users on platforms including Samsung, Vizio, Hisense, Sony and Roku.

With the addition of CTV, brand partners working with Blavity Media Group can now activate integrated campaigns across digital, social, newsletters, events and connected TV.

The deal also introduces a new content vertical for BMG’s brand partners: sports. OTTera’s FAST channel portfolio includes live and on-demand sports programming, giving advertisers access to a high-value environment for reaching culturally engaged audiences.

Blavity Media Group reaches more than 32 million monthly users across its brands, including Blavity, AfroTech, 21Ninety, Travel Noire, Home & Texture and Shadow & Act. Campaigns are also extended through the Blavity360° minority-owned publisher network.

The addition of OTTera’s CTV inventory expands the ways brand partners can reach Black consumers across multiple platforms and screens.

The partnership with Blavity Media Group marks OTTera’s largest channel sales relationship with a Black-owned media company to date.
